Thanks for Sharing (2012)

This movie is a comedy about several people all dealing with different addictions come together in a meeting and try to help each other overcome there addictions. Some have it easier than others and some keep going around in circles.

I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Starring Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers, Shutter Island) as Adam, Tim Robbins (Mystic River, War of the Worlds) as Mike, Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man movies, Se7en) as Phoebe, Josh Gad (Frozen, Love & Other Drugs) as Neil, Joely Richardson (Event Horizon, The Patriot) as Katie, Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Saved!) as Danny, musical artist Pink (Fantastic Four, White Chicks) as Dede (as Alicia Moore) and Carol Kane (Trees Lounge, Annie Hall) as Roberta.


 
 

The Family (2013)

This is a Mafia movie about the Manzoni family who is under a witness protection program and is relocated yet again, this time to Normandy France after Giovanni rats out his entire Mafia family to avoid prison. But they have a hard time fitting in with the locals so they revert back to there old ways of dealing with things, and when there location is discovered a hit is ordered on them for revenge.

This is a funny movie with a great cast of known and unknown actors. I like that De Niro encompasses his old Italian character.

I give this movie a 5 out of 5 and recommend this movie, but it is not for children to watch.

The Sapphires (2012)

This movie is about four Australian Aboriginal women get discovered as a performing group and are asked to start performing for the American troops in Vietnam. But once they are there, the band manager who has a spotty past shortens there tour and have to go to the US.

This is a good family movie and I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.

Starring Miranda Tapsell (Mabo, Love Child) as Cynthia, Deborah Mailman (The Secret Life of Us, Rabbit-Proof Fence) as Gail, Jessica Mauboy (Bran Nue Dae, Underbelly) as Julie, Chris O'Dowd (Bridesmaids, Thor: The Dark World) as Dave Lovelace and Judith Lucy (Bad Eggs, Crackerjack) as Merle.

Noah (2014)

This is a new rendition of the classical Biblical story of Noah.

A man, who is a descendant of Adam and Eve is chosen by God to build an arch and save two and every species of animals to rebuild the world after he destroys the world with a great flood and cleanses the land of man kind. But while they build the arch a clan of desperate men lead by a king try to get on board when the flood strikes but are no match for the guardian angels and the flood waters.

But when one of his own defies God' s will as he believes, he threatens to take drastic action and goes crazy.

I recommend this movie, and I give it a 4.5 out of 5.

This movie is about a U.S. Air Marshall with a past and a habit that gets framed for high jacking the international flight to London he is on. He tries to find the person behind the threats before he kills people and tries  to prove his innocence at the same time. This is an action pact movie with many twists and turns.

I give this movie a 5 out of 5.

The Girl (2012)

This movie is about a women from Texas down on her luck and trying to get her son back from foster care, goes on a trip to Mexico with her dad. On that trip she discovered that he smuggles people from Mexico into the U.S. in his truck. After realizing that she could make some good money, she tries smuggling her self. When she leads her first group to a river crossing, she finds out only three people made it across. One of the survivors is a little girl who is looking for her mother. She is now stuck trying to help her find her mother, and when she realizes what happened to her she takes the girl to her grandmother.

I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Starring Abbie Cornish (Limitless, Sucker Punch) as Ashley, Will Patton (Remember the Titans, Armageddon) as Tommy and introducing Maritza Santiago Hernandez as Rosa.





Escape Plan (2013)

This movie features two powerhouse actors that have played major roles throughout there careers.

This movie is about a man who breaks out of maximum security prisons to prove that they are vulnerable. In his last attempt, he and his team are approached by a CIA agent to secretly go into a new maximum security prison and test its security features. But once he is in, he realises that it is not what he was told. While inside, he makes allies with several inmates who also want to break out. The end of the movie is surprising. A definite must watch.

I recommend this movie and give it a 5 out of 5. This movie is not for kids.

As I Lay Dying (2013)

This is an unusual movie with interesting split screen cinematography. This movie is produced by James Franco, and is based on a 1930' s work by Faulkner.

This movie is about a family who is awaiting the mothers death, and start a journey to berry her in a far off location. When one of the brothers gets injured, they race for time to get to the destination before his leg gets infected and the mothers body starts to rot. This movie has a cast of well known actors from TV and film.

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.
