McFarland, USA (2015)

This movie is based on a true story.

A high school football coach gets fired for hurting a student in the locker room. He gets a job as a coach/PE teacher in a small rural school in California and moves his family there. He realizes that some of the students are great runners and persuades the principle to let him create a cross country track team.

After training them, they make it all the way to state finals and they win. He also decides to turn down a job at a better school when he realizes that this is his families home.

This is a great Disney family movie and I give it a 4 out of 5.

Starring Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves, Waterworld) as Jim White, Ramiro Rodriguez (Made in Hollywood) as Danny Diaz, Carlos Pratts (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Coyote) as Thomas Valles, Johnny Ortiz (Ali, Play It to the Bone) as Jose Cardenas, Maria Bello (Prisoners, Secret Window) as Cheryl White, Morgan Saylor (Homeland, Jamie Marks is Dead) as Julie White and Elsie Fisher (Despicable Me movies, Bad Behavior) as Jamie White.
