Better Living Through Chemistry (2014)

This movie is about a Pharmacist who is bored with life, works at a Pharmacy owned by his father-in-law and who's wife is demeaning to him. He meets a women who is dangerous and gets him to agree to leave his life behind and run away with her for a new start. But things don' t go as they had planned, but it all works out.

This movie has a great cast but fails to really impress. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Girl Most Likely (2012)

This movie is about a playwright who loses her job, moves back with her mom and brother and decide to find there father. But when they find him he is a disappointment. Her life is in shambles and she tried to fake a suicide attempt to get attention. This movie failed to impress.

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.

Scary Movie 5 (2013)

This is another spoof film making fun of allot of other movie that have come out.

A couple who move into the deceased brothers house and take in his two daughters start to experience things in the home. Through a home camera system they find out what has been happening around the house.

This is a funny movie and I recommend it. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

The English Teacher (2013)

This movie is about a teacher who falls for a former student while trying to get a story he wrote performed in a play. After a brief encounter between them, she makes it clear that it can not continue until she sees him with another cast member and gets very jealous.

This is a funny movie with several well known cast members. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

The Hungover Games (2014)

This is a spoof film that makes fun of allot of recent movies. It encompasses characters from The Hunger Games, The Hangover, Thor, Ted as well as other movies. It goes along the same story line as the first hunger games movies. It is a pretty funny movie and I recommend it but it is not a kid friendly movie because of bad language and nudity.

I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

Under the Skin (2013)

An alien who takes the form of a women, seduces men and leads them into a mysterious liquid pool that consumes them. But she soon starts to discover herself and what she is.

This was a strange movie and I did not enjoy it very much. I do not recommend this movie and I give it a 2.5 out of 5.

Starring Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers movies, Lost in Translation) as the alien women, Jeremy McWilliams, Lunsey Taylor Mackay, Dougie McConnell and Kevin McAlinden.


 

 
 

Open Season 2 (2008)

The second movie in a three part series, Elliot heads to the alter with Giselle but gets cold feet. But when one of his friends gets kidnapped he has to stop his plans and rescue him and return him to his owners. This is a funny kids movie and great for families.

I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014)

While in school in London, he sees the events of 911 and joins the Marines. But while on deployment he gets injured when his helicopter is attacked and while in recovery he is recruited by a CIA agent to join the CIA as a covert operative. This is a good movie for action junkies and I recommend it.

I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

22 Jump Street (2014)

This is the sequel to 21 Jump Street. After a successful mission at a high school, they get sent to college for another drug bust. Just like the first movie the two men start out working together, they drift apart but reunite once again.

This is another funny movie with the same cast. I recommend this movie especially if you like the first one. I give this movie a 5 out of 5.

A group of samurai avenged the death of there master from the ruthless shogun. The banded together and made a sneak attach and got back the women who was promised to wed the shoguns son. This is a great action movie set in the beautiful Japan mountains.

This movie is based on a true story of 47 samurai who lost there master and there samurai status and got revenge.

This is a great movie especially if you like Japanese and samurai history. I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

The Lego Movie (2014)

This is an animated movie about a Lego construction worker that was told he was the one who is "special" and has the ability to build anything, and has to save the different realms from Lord Business the evil leader. It has a great voice over cast.

This is a cute movie great to watch with kids or your family, and I recommend this movie. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

When they discover the nut store is tide to a robbery, things get interesting. This is a cute movie for family and kids, and is very similar to the movie over the hedge.

RoboCop (2014)

This is a re-make of the original 1984 movie with allot more special effects.

A Chicago police officer and his partner are ambushed and when his partner gets shot he vows to find out who is corrupted and get them back. When at his home, his car alarm goes off and when he goes out to investigate it blows up and leaves him clinging to life.

A doctor offers his wife the opportunity to bring him back but not as himself. She agrees, and doctors give him a robotic body and a brain implant and he gets back to work solving crime and finding those responsible.

This movie is action packed with great special effects. I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

This is a dark movie but still very good. I give this movie a 4 out of 5 and I recommend it.

A girl escapes from a serial killer and helps police track him down. The police discover that he is responsible for over 20 other missing girls from over the years. This is a drama movie with some good cast members. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Chef (2014)

This movie is about a chef who loses his job at a restaurant after arguing with the restaurant owner over a bad review from a food critic. He goes to Miami with his ex-wife and son and meet with a man that wants to help him get a food truck. After much success with the food truck, they take it on the road back to California.

This movie is great with a great cast. It is a real funny movie and I recommend it. I give this movie a 5 out of 5.

Sex Tape (2014)

This movie is about a couple who experiences the changes in a relationship that happen when you have been with that person for a while. At first it is wonderful and sex fueled, but then things slow down. They decide to make sex tape when there kids are at there grandparents hows but the guy forgets to delete it the next day. It automatically gets uploaded to his cloud and sent to all the iPad' s he was given out as gifts.

In an effort to keep it from getting out, they try and track each one down but run into some problems. This is a real funny movie, great for dates but not for kids.

I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

Pompeii (2014)

This movie is based off historical events.

A young boy loses his parents right in front of his eyes and gets taken and sold as a slave. When he grows up he becomes a gladiator. As a gladiator he is fighting for his life in the arena while Mount Vesuvius starts to erupt. His focus changes from fighting the other gladiators to running for his life and saving the girl he loves. But it is too difficult to outrun the lava flow and they are turned into ash where they stand.

This is a Roman era action movie with some great special effects. I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

A tank crew in Germany during WWII is in the fight for its life with a new member of the crew. They try and break him in since he has never seen any action. When they are surprised by a squad of SS they must decide to stand and fight or leave there damaged tank.

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves WWII movies as this movie has realism. I give this movie a 5 out of 5.

A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)

This is another great Seth MacFarlane movie.

This movie is described by the title shows how many ways you could die if you lived in the wild west. With a great cast and lots of humor this is a great entertaining movie but mostly not for kids because of gore.

A farmer falls for a new women that just came to town but when he finds out that she is married to an evil man he has to fight him to defend her honor. I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

The Call (2013)

A 911 operator gets a call from a girl who is home alone and says a man is trying to get into her home. She hides under her bed, and the man things she left the home so he starts to leave but is alarmed by the phone ringing because the 911 operator called the house back after the call got accidentally dropped. A few months later the same man is involved in another 911 call and the operator is able to save the second girl and fights back.

This is a thriller and keeps you on your toes. I recommend this movie but it is not for kids. I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

Left Behind (2014)

A pilot has to rescue the remainder of his crew and passengers after some of them suddenly disappear in the middle of a flight. Chaos ensues in the plane and people start blaming each other. Meanwhile, the pilots daughter and son are at a mall and the son also disappears and no one knows what happened.

This is not a great movie with mediocre special effects although it does have some good cast members. I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.

The Other Man (2008)

This movie is about a man who looses his wife and suspects that she had an affair. He goes through her phone and laptop and discovers pictures and conversations with the man. He starts to e-mail him as her and finds him to see who he is. He ends up setting up a fake meet and reveals that he was her husband and that she had past on.

This is a thriller with a good small cast. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

The Fifth Estate (2013)

This movie is about a couple of hackers that start the site wiki leaks which is known for posting leaked information from anonymous sources. It is a sci-fi thriller and a great movie for news and tech junkies. It shows how tech companies try and keep information out of the wrong hands.

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.

Adore (2013)

This movie is about two childhood friends who fall for each others sons and continue the affairs until in complicates there lives. The husband of one of the women finds out and starts another family after movie for his new job.

This is kind of a strange movie and I give it a 3 out of 5.

Stuck in Love (2012)

This movie is about a writer whos daughter has her 1st book published at a young age is not over his ex-wife and hopes she will come back to him. Both of his kids are trying to write novels but alot of family drama stands in the way with relationships.

This is a romantic comedy and I recommend as a date movie. This movie is not for kids, and I rate this movie a 4 out of 5.

The Fault in Our Stars (2014)

This movie is about two cancer patients who meet at a group counseling meeting and start falling for each other. Hazel is very reluctant to acknowledege her feelings towards Gus but falls for him anyway. After a trip to Amsterdam, to speak with there favorite author Gus reveals his cancer is back and he has limited time.

This is a sad/romantic movie but I recommend it for couples. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Emperor (2012)

After the Japanese surrender at the end of WWII a group of soldiers are tasked with capturing war criminals and deciding in the Emperor is guilty of war crimes or should be pardoned. At the same time Gen Fellers, Gen. MacArthurs right hand man is trying to find a lost love he last saw in Japan five years earlier before the bombings who he met while in college.

But he finds out through her Japanese General uncle that she was killed in one of the bombings. This is a great war movie and I recommend it. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Homefront (2013)

This movie is about a former DEA agent who moves with his daughter to Louisiana to get away from someone he put in jail when he was undercover starts getting into trouble with some of the locals who clearly don' t like him. When it is found out about who he really is a connection is made but some of the locals and all hell breaks loose and they come after is family.

This is an action packed movie with great fight scenes. I recommend it to action junkie and fight movies.  I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

The Maze Runner (2014)

This movie is about a group of boys are find themselves one by one in a wooded area surrounded by a large metal wall that opens once a day and closes at night. A small group of those boys go out during the day and try to memorize the maze and find a way out but it changes every night and you don' t want to be left in it over night.

This movie has a feel of the Hunger Games movies and is also going to be a series.

I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Planes (2013)

A crop dusting plane wants more than his future and badly wants to fly high and fast and compete in a race but is deathly afraid of heights. He partners with an old was plane who he admires to train him on how he will have to fly. He runs into some struggles during the race.

This is a cute kids movie from the makers of the cars movies. This is a great family and kids movie and I recommend it. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Vampire Academy (2014)

Well, this movie is a cross between Harry Potter, True Blood and the Twilight movies. Definitely a chic flick.

A vampire princess and her guardian return to school after they are captured from running away from school for a year. When they return things are a little different then before. It is a battle between three different groups, the Dhampir, Moroi and Strigoi.

This is definitely  a teen movie and if you like either True Blood, Twilight or Harry Potter than you would probably like this movie. I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.

Into the Storm (2014)

A group of storm trackers witness what is the worst and largest tornado strike in history. Some of them even lose there lives in it s pursuit. This movie is a great movie with excellent special effects. The CG work in this movie is amazing.

The way that we have frequent storms now days it is possible that we could one day experience a massive tornado like in the movie. I give this movie a 5 out of 5.

That Awkward Moment (2014)

This movie is about three friends and the twists and turns they all experience in differing relationships. They all hit that awkward moment in a relationship when a women asks "so....where is this going?".

This is a funny date movie but not for kids because of sexual content.

I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

Last Vegas (2013)

Three old friends get together for another friends wedding in Vegas and after hashing out some old issues they have a great time but with a surprising ending. This movie has a great cast and is a great date movie.

I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5. I recommend this movie.

All Is Lost (2013)

This movie is about a man living on a sail boat who's ship gets overrun by a violent sea storm and his ship sinks. He survives a couple of days in a life raft. After several attempts at getting the attention of passing ships he gives up but gets rescued at the last minute. There is not much dialogue in this movie.

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.

Starring Robert Redford (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) as Our Man.

A group of art historians and dealers get recruited to join the Army and find stolen art and statues stolen by the Germans at the end of WWII. Everyone thought they would not make good soldiers but they suffered there own losses and also had to fight.

This movie has a great cast and I recommend it. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.
