The New World (2005)

This movie is about how the English came to discover Virginia and there interaction with the natives. This is based on the story of Pocahontas and John Smith. There is also a love story with a twist and a surprise ending. The movie shows how savage and territorial the Indians were to the English. It also has a pretty good cast.

I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.

Starring Colin Farrell (Phone Booth, Total Recall) as Captain Smith, introducing Q' orianka Kilcher (Blaze You Out, The Power of Few) as Pocahontas, Christopher Plummer (Up, A Beautiful Mind) as Captain Newport, Christian Bale (American Psycho, The Prestige) as John Rolfe and August Schellenberg (Free Willy, Eight Below) as Powhatan.
